Joulu

Hieman erilainen on taas ollut vaihteeksi tämä joulu. Ei se joulu oo paikasta kiinni. Ihan erillä tavalla auennut se, että joulu ei oo ne tietyt perinteet vaan se oma mielentila. Tosi mukavasti on aika mennyt täällä Tokiosta. Kiitos lahjoista! 

This year I didn't have the most traditional Christmas celebration. Christmas is not about the place and traditions but your own mind-set. The time has passed really nicely here in Tokyo. Thank you for the presents!

Varsinainen jouluateria (aatonattona...). Tilattiin sushia paikan parhaasta ravintolasta. Oli hyvää. Ei se tietty ruoka tuo joulua vaan hyvä seura ja rento tunnelma! 
Our Christmas dinner (two nights before Christmas...d). It's not the certain Christmas food but the company and atmosphere that makes Christmas!

Pääsin leipomaan pullia. Kaikki ainekset löytyi ja kaasu-uunikin toimi moitteettomasti.
I was able to bake some ''Pulla'', Finnish buns that are so delicious... I find all the ingredients and the gas-oven worked perfectly

Saatiin ''oikea'' jouluntuoksukin sitten. Maistui paremmalle kuin näytti :D
Then we got the ''right'' scent to the Christmas. ...It tasted better than looked...

 Jouluaattona mentiin ravintolaan talonisännän ja sen työkavereiden kanssa syömään. Keittimessä keitettiin vihanneksia ja sieniä ja sitten tikuilla uitettiin ohuen ohuita lihasuikaleita, jotka kypsyivät ihan hetkessä. Sitten dipattiin omiin kastikkeihin ja syötiin :) Olihan se namia.

On the Christmas eve we went to the restaurant with our host and his co-workers. We cooked vegetables and mushrooms in the spiced water and dipped very thin slices of meat in it. After it was cooked (in the matter of seconds) we dipped them in sauces and ate. One word: yam :)

Kyllä täällä Tokiossakin on vilposta, ja varmaan käy kuuran puolellakin öisin niin silti täällä on kasvikset maassa kasvamassa.
It's pretty cool also down here in Tokyo and probably minus degrees during the night, but still there are vegetables growing on the ground...

Talon isäntä antoi meille tällaset onnenraha kortit. Tuottaa vissiin onnea ens vuojelle.
Our host gave us ''lucky moneys''. I guess it is a symbol to give us luck for the next year.

Yks projekti taas valmis. Talon emännälle lahjaksi, kunhan palaavat lomaltaan.
One more project done. It is a present for our hostess when they'll come back.

Päiväkävelyllä oli kaunis ilma. Aurinko oli laskemassa ja ilma oli ihanan kirpeä ja puhdas.
The weather was beautiful on our day walk. The sun was setting and the air was lovely bitter and clear.
